Hi there! If you've hung around the Garden for any length of time, you've probably seen my ugly mug around. I'm Amber aka The Queen, Queenie, "Hey, you." My best friend, Jenn (Muhrrynn), and I started this website a couple of years back after a fit of pique and it grew well beyond our imagination into something wonderful and amazing. I live in Terre Haute, Indiana with my dogs, Leo and Edgar. I hate green beans and I'm a hopeless couch potato. Occasionally, I find the time to work on and actually post on one of the many WIP's I have here. Occasionally. I'm usually an open book, too open some fear, so feel free to bother me. I don't bite, but I do behead. |

Greetings, all. If I say, "pay no attention to the Jenn behind the curtain" as I would like to, Amber will snark. So you get this... I'm a full time mom of two, a full time job holder, and an rare participant here. Mostly, I work behind the scenes and stay out of the way. Anything more about my involvement is neatly covered on the Once Upon A Time page. I enjoy music, drawing, writing, crafting, sewing, playing with website design, and a myriad of other things too numerous to list. And there ya go. That's all you get. I'm off to to hide in the wings while the play continues. |

I'm fumie. Yes, it is a real name, it happens to be my middle name and it means "person of letters' in Japanese. I stumbled into HG through Firthness in April 2002. I didn't know fanfic was out there much less that there was fanfic honoring JA's work. Happy surprise. One of the first stories I read was From Longbourne to Lambton by Abigail. Yes, she got me hooked and I've been following her, Amber's, HeatherLynn's and others' stories, as well as occasionally commenting...I'm a bit lazy in that area I'm afraid. I am originally from Hawaii, from the foot of Diamond Head, but would never call myself a "Hawaiian" as that is a distinct ethnic group. I now live in Northern California...home to Ahnold the Terminator governor. I am married to a gentle guy who understands my love of JA and P&P, even if he doesn't really share it. We have two kids, a boy and a girl. I work full-time as a document production specialist, basically a proofreader who does alot of desktop publishing, for a nonprofit NGO. I can honestly say that I love my work. It's close to what I was trained for: journalism. I once had the notion of working for a newspaper or magazine, even went to graduate school at Indiana U where I met my DH. Things never turn out the way you expect them so here I am, working in an area that's close to what I was trained for AND liking it. |

Although one of the younger people in the Garden (think: still in college), I've been around for quite a while. I followed Amber here in the spring of 2002, and tHG has been my home/procrastination tool ever since. A little about me: I moderate Plant Life with Fumie and read copious amounts (both fanfic and real books). I've even ventured into the world of creative writing myself and have a story on this board, but my life is unfortunately hectic and I post embarassingly less than I should. I'm an art history and french major at school on the east coast, although my roots are in the midwest. You might not see me around much (limited internet acess), but if you need anything, please don't hesitate to send me a message! |

Hmmm, what to say about me. I’m a thirty-something year old mother of one ornery 11-year-old son known as The Progeny. My husband and I just celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary; obviously I married fairly young. I’m a native Arizonan, living in the Valley of the Sun. My degree is in History, but I’m pretty much a kept woman. My husband’s job can entail a lot of traveling, so I get to play single mom more than I like. I work very part-time as a full-service bookkeeper for our family-owned construction company (which means I do all the financial stuff for the business). I found Jane Austen in January of 2003. I had never read any of her works before then. I had just returned home from the hospital and my good friend, who is an English professor at a local small liberal arts college, brought me a bunch of cd’s and videotapes from the school library. The very first thing my DH and I watched was P&P2. We watched the first disk one night and decided to finish the other the next. I didn’t wait for him and watched it the when he was at work. I was hooked. As soon as I was up and around, I went to Borders and bought my first copy of P&P. I’ve read every JA novel at least once since then. I found JA ff in November of 2004. After reading just about everything I could get my hands on online, I was bored. My DH was out of the country and I had nothing to do. On a whim I started outlining a story. I had never thought of myself as a writer, but I opened a Word Document and off I flew. That posting experience got me more and more involved in HG. Since then I’ve been fortunate to meet so many people, many face to face. I love the Garden and look forward to serving my fellow hoes and rakes! Oh, one last thing. My name is Linnea Eileen, but I go by LE around here. Mucho easier to type! |

I'm June, not Jane – not Jane Austen, and not angel Jane Bennet. Had I been Jane Austen, I would not have been so kind to baddies such as Wickham and Willoughby. I am an angst-wimp who loves happy endings for the good guys. I am originally from Hawaii. I moved to California to attend college (majored in journalism and economics) way back in 1974, and I'm still here. My hubby and I live in the South Bay area. We have no kids, we just borrow from other people and return them spoiled. And I love meeting HG members at hoedowns! In 2003, I had open-heart surgery, and watched TV and read books during recovery. I came across PP2 on the telly and searched for more info online, then discovered this thing called fanfiction. Voila! I've been in HG ever since. The history of drabbles in Hyacinth Gardens... sometime in November 2005, an HG member came up with the idea of having folks write drabbles. In the world of fanfic from all fandoms, a drabble is 100 words in length, but in HG, we're more lenient and use 200 words (more or less) or sometimes 300 words as a guideline. The idea caught on, and in December 2005 I somehow became in charge of drabbles. I solicited ideas for themes, until folks complained that they wanted me to just tell them themes – announce it like an edict, surprise them. So I became Drabble Dictatoress. "Write, you minions! I demand little somethings to feed my fanfic addiction!" On Wednesday, 3rd January 2007, I was notified that I am now Moderator for the Drabbling Patch. I now have access to the Poll feature that only Moderators have, so you may find yourself actually voting for a theme, although I am still really a Dictatoress. Okay, a sometimes Benevolent Dictatoress. Just remember one thing: "Write, you minions!" |
